Ijumped in the Sonata N Line last week with a promise to be driven by the senses – and rest assured driven by the senses I was!
But before we kick off the review of this elegant vehicle, I need to ask you a question: How often do you see a classy sedan being driven around our streets?
It seems my daily commute is filled with SUVs of all sizes, matched with a double dose of utes throughout our region.
So taking a sleek sedan for a spin around our streets certainly turned a few heads, helped by the fact it was a matte aero silver colour, doubling down on the wow-factor.
Once I stopped admiring the paint work, hopping into the vehicle was a pure joy, filled with all the latest tech you need.
The dual 12.3” curved display and connected car services Bluelink + OTA provided an ultimate immersive digital experience, complemented by lush suede and Nappa leather appointed seats which made it a joy to sit in.
The sport seats ergonomically contour to your body, while premium leather headrests support you on your journey.
Red contrast stitching and embossed logos leave you with that signature N thrill.
I loved the Smart Power Tailgate and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are a given, while head-up display and a wireless charging pad that can handle thick protective cases make life just that little bit easier.
There were some pretty cool features included, such as a button operated rear window blind, built in rear passenger window blinds, heated and cooled seats, tinted sunroof, a deep boot and plenty of leg room for rear passengers.
Road noise was virtually undetectable, with the Sonata proving zippy around town while still making light work of the open road.
When it comes to the equipment under the bonnet, there’s a 2.5 T-GDi powertrain and torque figures of 213kW and 422Nm.
Hyundai boasts that with an advanced suspension system and agile steering response, every drive is thrill.
A horizontal front-end layout integrates the impressive lighting architecture, while the enlarged front bumper grille adds a powerful finish you can feel.
You can feel the power of N at your feet as launch control maintains the engine speed and kickstarts the turbocharger, increasing acceleration performance.
Drive mode selector lets you decide how you want to take on the road that day.
Choose between Eco, Normal, Sport or My Drive, where you can set up a custom mode.
Other features include 19” N Line alloy wheels, LED seamless horizon lamp with dynamic welcome lighting sequence, 12.3” curved instrument cluster, 12.3” curved multimedia touchscreen and BOSE premium audio system with 12 speakers.
There is also Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM), Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Junction Turning (FCA-JT), Lane Keeping Assist – Line/Road-Edge (LKA-L/R), Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop and Go, Surround View Monitor (SVM) and Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA).
I was absolutely left with the impression the Sonata N Line knows how to make an entrance.
With a sleek, sporty design that’s signature to the powerful N Line, and futuristic touches, it will send your senses into overdrive.
Let’s just say – I was absolutely N-Spired.
Make sure you head into Barry Maney Hyundai to book a test drive with the team today.
