Success continues for jack of all trades

Success continues for jack of all trades

One wonders when Mount Burr sportsman Jack Muhovics gets time to sleep.

With the change of seasons upon us, Jack has relinquished his dual role as a senior cricketer and underage coach at Mick and Jean Walker Oval in his home town and pulled on the green and gold guernsey of the Mount Burr United Football Club.

Away from sport, Jack is a university student and works two part-time jobs.

The 22-year-old is an educational support officer at Mary MacKillop Memorial School at Penola and is employed on a casual basis at the Kimberly-Clark Australia Millicent Mill.

After being educated at Mount Burr Primary School and Millicent High School, Jack was unsure of his career choice.

He undertook a foundation course at the Mount Gambier campus of Uni SA and this gave him an Australian Tertiary Admission Ranking (ATAR).

This enabled him to secure a place in the education faculty of Uni SA.

Jack is now in his second year of a Bachelor of Primary Education degree at the Uni SA campus in Mount Gambier.

At the end of 2023 Jack was awarded the Chancellor’s Letter of Commendation for his outstanding academic results, being in the top 5% in his Academic Unit.

Jack is now eligible to join the Golden Key International Honour Society, enabling him to have access to scholarships, grants, career advice and to become part of an international network of high achieving graduate and undergraduate students.

Jack’s achievements have been highlighted by Mary MacKillop Memorial School in a recent social media post.

“At Mary MacKillop Memorial School, all of our staff are important to our children flourishing and thriving,” the school said.

“It is super important to foster excellence in our own selves to be the best we can be in our roles at school to be able to give more to our students.

“Jack Muhovics started with us mid-way through last year and is one of our educational support officers.

“He works across all year levels, providing classroom support and implementing Intervention Programs to assist students to bridge learning gaps. He is an important member of our team.

“At Mary MacKillop Memorial School, we are incredibly passionate about nurturing our educators.”
