Supers lead the charge at Borderline

Borderline Speedway will rev back into race mode this Saturday night with the running of the 2022 SA Super Sedan title.

On the program for the night will also be the mighty F500s, Street Stocks and the Junior Sedans.

Leading the list of nominations for the title is Australian number one in Matty Pascoe who is travelling down from Queensland and so is ex Australian champion Steve Jordan.

There are also drivers coming across Bass Strait in Dave Nichols, Steve Latham, Callum Harper and Wayne Dillon who will all be on the money come final time.

Leading the charge for the South Aussies will be Paul Blenkiron, Kym Jury, Sarah Pope and Kym Leyson.

While current South Australian and Victorian champion Mick Nicola will also be on the money to retain his current status of SA 1.

All these drivers have previously raced around at Borderline and know how the track can be at times which will test their skills and driving abilities.

Having the Australian Champion in the house at the “bullring” will provide some entertaining racing for the class.

These mighty V8 sedan will perform with some high-octane racing and will not disappoint the die-hard race fan on the hill.

Also on the cards be the Blue Lake classic and with a good field of street stocks they can also prove to be a great spectacle.

Local drivers in Jason Duell, Steve Gartner and Scott Merrett will entertain the crowd while some outside drivers are also vying for the coveted title of Blue Lake Classic Champion it will be interesting.

Also on the program will be the buzzing F500s for round 8 of the state series and these little things with wings can also put on some great racing with speed.

Nominations are at 13 at time of print and some familiar names include Mount Gambier locals Jordan Mansell, Josh Mun and Ryan Harry whom all have the home track advantage.

The likes of Michael Wise, Richard Schmidt, Lauren Bowen, Tim Rankin Jordy Langdon, Jake Hose, Ben McLeod, Alex Ryan and Liam Russell will be trying to rain their parade.

Junior sedans are venturing on to the speedway as a support to the program and these young boys and girls are the future of the sport and always put on some good racing.

Gates open from 4pm with racing commencing an hour later.
