Surgeon steps into board role

Adelaide-based orthopaedic surgeon Dr Andrew Saies has been promoted to chair the Limestone Coast Local Health Network regional board.

He was a serving board member prior to his elevation on the weekend.

Dr Saies has had his board term extended for three years and will chair it for the next 12 months.

Inaugural regional board chairman Grant King stepped down recently after several years in the role.

Mr King accepted a 12-month extension in 2023 following a personal approach from Health Minister Chris Picton.

A similar ministerial offer was made this year but Mr King declined.

Dr Saies is a self-employed specialist in private practice at Sportsmed in the capital city and has worked as a specialist in the public health sector.

The two new LCLHN regional board members are Kelly Groth and John Davidson and they will serve for the coming three years.
