Teen dives head first into cancer fundraising effort

AMount Gambier teenager is getting ready to shave her head for charity – for the second time.

Grace Morgan, 16, will take place in the World’s Greatest Shave fundraiser.

The World’s Greatest Shave is one of the biggest fundraisers around in Australia and raises money to help Australian families facing blood cancer.

But this is not the first time Grace has lost her locks for a good cause, she first shaved her head in 2017 at the age of 11.

However, this year she is participating in the shave for her cousin, Maggie, who is undergoing treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a type of childhood cancer that affects the white blood cells.

Grace has set her sights on raising $1000 through her fundraiser, which will be donated to the Leukemia Foundation.

The foundation provides accommodation, transport, information, education, emotional support services, mental health services, contributes to research to hope that one day we find a cure, and the advocacy for those facing this scary journey.

“Any donations or support will be received with grateful hearts, thank you,” Grace said.
