Theatre upgrade

Independent Member for Mount Gambier Troy Bell has called for a major upgrade of the Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre in the Blue Lake city. 

According to Mr Bell, the facility is no longer fit for purpose with performers faced with unsatisfactory facilities for their rehearsals and shows. 

Mr Bell urged the State Government to act in a speech to the House of Assembly last week. 

The Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre was officially declared open in 1981 by the then Prince of Wales and now His Majesty King Charles the Third.
