Top teams cement place in KNT finals

With the top five teams virtually set to play finals, the last five weeks will bring on some big important clashes to see which teams can get the double chance by the time the finals start.

The first big clash of the run home took place on Saturday where Kingston hosted Border Districts and what a big game it was.

Both teams went hard at the ball and the man to gain the upper hand right throughout the game.

The Saints were able to fight enough to get across the line by three points.

Kingston needed this win to stay in touch with a chance of getting the double chance.

Kingston had a great spread of goal-kickers in the contest with five players recording two goals.

Travis Burns, Jack Harding, James Siviour, Ben Warner and William Wiseman all scored two goals each for the Saints in the hard-fought victory.

Jarryd Hill, Orestis Gambranis and William Wiseman were Kingston’s best players.

Dylan Schoenmakers had a great duel with Kingston’s Jarryd Hill and was able to lead the Eagles’ goal-kickers with three goals.

Mackenzie Bower and Isaac Hewson helped out with the scoring by kicking two goals each.

Dre Stirling, Mark Quinn and Isaac Hewson were the Eagles’ best players.

Naracoorte used their better accuracy to hold off a determined Penola team on Saturday to win by nine points.

The Demons had just 21 scoring shots to the Eagles’ 27 and kept their double chance chances alive with the important victory.

Zac Peake and Sam Willson kicked four goals each in the win.

Darcy McKenny, Keenan Jacobs and Josh Gregg were the Demons’ best players.

Brodie Foster was the only player able to record multiple goals for Penola with four majors for the game.

Jordan Galpin, Brodie Foster and Gus Eckermann were the Eagles’ best players.

Mundulla proved far too strong for their arch-rival Bordertown on Saturday.

The Tigers broke the game open in the first half and went on to record a 78-point victory.

Mundulla’s James Hinge proved hard to stop as he kicked four goals.

Jack Guy added three goals in the victory.

Nathan Studham, Jake McGrice and Nick Mosey were strong performers in the victory for the Tigers.

Bordertown found it hard to find a winning player in the front half.

The Roosters recorded all single-goal kickers in the contest.

Angus Day, Bryce Damin and Joshua Searle were the Roosters’ best players.

Keith got past a Daniel Menzel-inspired Padthaway after halftime to record a strong victory on Saturday.

The Lions took it right up to the Crows until three-quarter time before Keith pulled away in the fourth quarter and went on to win by 38 points.

Riley Wilsden kicked five goals in the victory for Keith.

Blake Read added four goals to help the Crows get the job done.

Jacob Graetz, Riley Wilsdon and Jonathon Wilson were the Crows’ best players.

Padthaway recruit Daniel Menzel kicked six goals in the loss.

Daniel Menzel, Will Bryson and Tarquin Brown were named as the Lions’ best players.

Kybybolite broke their winless start to the season by thumping Lucindale in a strong performance on Saturday.

The Tigers turned the game on its head in the second half by kicking 12-11 to 0-1 after the margin at halftime was only 10 points the Tigers’ way.

Angus McKenzie(5) and Stephen Craig(4) combined for nine goals in the victory.

The Tigers finally broke their losing streak and will look forward to recording more victories to close the year out.

Josh Trembath was a lone hand in the forward line for Lucindale as he put through four goals.

Luke Kelsh, Duncan Ogilvie and Josh Trembath were Lucindale’s best players.Round 12 this weekend and all roads leads to Keith where the Crows host Mundulla in a crucial clash for both teams.

Both teams are in the top three and a game clear of fourth place but the loser of this contest will be level on wins with fourth place after this game.

Both teams look to be hitting their best form at the moment and both have added some key players in the last month to their already strong lineups.

Keith has welcomed back William Schreiber to the lineup after he had been playing reserves football for North Adelaide.

William is a classy moving player who will hurt you running off half-back if you afford him some space.

Mundulla has also added Nathan Studham and he has slotted into the team easily and just makes the Tigers harder to stop.

This game just seems to be set for a close finish.

Mundulla won comfortably the first time they matched up this year.

This time I think the game will be a close tight game and the edge might just be with the Crows because it is at home.

Penola hosts Padthaway and the Eagles can count themselves unlucky after bad kicking cost them a chance to get another victory last weekend against the Demons.

The Eagles have been in some good form without getting the wins and are growing more confident as each week comes around.

Their younger players are getting better and better and they will be confident of carrying that form into this game.

The Lions have added Daniel Menzel and he shone in game one with six goals.

The Lions need to get the ball as much as possible into the Ex-AFL players’ hands as he has great kicking skills and could drag them across the line in this game with a big haul.

This is a hard game to pick the winner in and the last time they met; the Eagles had a big win.

Penola should be able to follow up again and get the four points on Saturday.

Kingston is at home against Naracoorte and this game presents a chance for both teams to stay close to the top three teams on the ladder.

The Saints are finding some form and are coming off their best win of the season against Border Districts.

Both sides will be missing key players as Kingston will be without Campbell Watts and Naracoorte will be without Rory Taggert and Matt Willson due to being selected in the South Australian Country vs Western Australia Country game in Perth on Saturday.

The Demons will find it hard to cover their two big guns not playing.

Kingston should be red-hot favourites and players such as Jack Harding, Todd Lockwood and James Siviour should get enough shots on goal to help steer the Saints to a victory.

Bordertown hosts Lucindale and this game presents real chance for both sides to get a victory on the board.

The Roosters play patches of great football, but struggle to maintain it for four quarters.

The Roos’ season has fallen away after not being able to record a win in the last month.

Lucindale needs to find Josh Trembath a goal-kicking partner this week to have any chance of getting the points.

The Roosters have Jacob Eats and Thomas Whittlesea up forward and the Roos need to stop the supply to them throughout the game.

The Roosters should be too strong.

Border Districts will be the favourite to win over Kybybolite on Saturday.

The Eagles lost a hard-contested game against the Saints last weekend but should be too strong for Kybybolite.

The Tigers will be full of confidence after finally getting their first win of the season.

Billy Laurie, Stephen Craig and Angus McKenzie have been in good form and will pose problems for the Eagles.

Border Districts will be looking for Dylan Schoenmaker, Mark Quinn and the Bower boys to lead the charge and get back on the winners list this weekend.
