Touching tribute paid to Kalangadoo life member

Play paused on the Kalangadoo netball courts on Saturday to remember club life member Val Little.

Players from both Mount Burr and Kalangadoo took time during Kalangadoo’s first home games to pay tribute to Mrs Little, who died in February.

Mrs Little joined the Kalangadoo Netball Club in 1965 and was presented with life membership in 1975.

She was actively involved in the club for many years holding the positions of president, vice-president, assistant secretary, treasurer and association delegate, as well as long-standing club patron.

Fellow club life member Karen Cunningham delivered a touching tribute to her late friend, describing her as “like a surrogate grandmother with her smiling face, words of encouragement and cheekiness”.

“Val was an amazing lady and always had a big smile and a warm hug for everyone and the kindest heart,” she said. “She was involved with our netball club for 65 years.”
