Travellers snap up vacancies

Holiday parks are reporting an in increase in bookings despite recent uncertainty about tourist numbers in the region caused by concerns about border restrictions.

Blue Lake Holiday Park told The SE Voice they had several cancellations mainly due to Victorians not wanting to test and isolate however they have received bookings to fill those cancellations quite quickly.

“Now the isolation requirements have changed, we have stopped receiving cancellations,” Blue Lake Holiday Park Manager Julie Cowley said.

“Last year we had a great year once South Australians were allowed to travel within the state with September and October were a little quieter this year compared to last year however November onwards has been looking really good.

“I think people are desperate to get back to normal and there will obviously be some people that are still dubious about crossing the border between states, but our Christmas is looking great regardless of COVID-19.

“None of our guests have mentioned any concerns regarding travel or the new strain at this stage.”
