Trespasser makes themselves at home

Limestone Coast Police are requesting that owners and occupiers of houses in the Carpenter Rocks and Mount Gambier area check their homes are secure following an incident at a holiday house last week.

The owner attended the holiday home to find the house had been broken into, with evidence of a person staying in the house without permission.

To reduce the opportunity for thieves to gain entry into your home, consider the following crime prevention security tips:

Ensure appropriate keyed locks are fitted to all doors and windows.

Lock gates, garages and sheds when not in use.

Install and activate an alarm system.

If you see someone acting suspiciously, please contact police on assistance line 131 444.

Members of the public are asked to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.crimestopperssa.com.au if they have any information.
