UniSA Mount Gambier is preparing for the next event in its series of public lectures, set for June 18.
UniSA’s Mr David Blaiklock (pictured) is the Program Director and Founder of the Bachelor of Design (Illustration and Animation) at the University of South Australia.
Mr Blaiklock is nationally recognised for his experience in design education with a Distinguished Teaching Award from the Australian Council of University Art and Design Schools (ACAUDS) and Australian Office for Learning and Teaching.
He will be presenting about illustrators and animators being unique and creative practitioners who straddle both fine art and design practice.
“The rise, influence and impact of Illustration and Animation practice in contemporary society has been propelled by the rapid change in communication technology over the past 15 years,” Mr Blaiklock said.
“The ability to communicate instantly through the internet has fuelled demand for creative practitioners who can provide picture-based stories which engage and capture the attention of audiences.”
Mr Blaiklock will be examining illustration and animation practice as a unique creative discipline that is distinct from other forms of creative practice
There will be pre-lecture drinks at 6pm and the lecture will commence at 6.30pm.
Registrations of attendance are essential and can be made by visting https://events.humanitix.com/making-pictures-and-telling-stories-the-role-of-illustration-and-animation-in-contemporary-society/tickets
