Veterans enjoy seaside sun

More than 50 SE Veteran golfers travelled to Beachport on a perfect day for golf.

Div 1 was won by local Rob Carter with 38 points having just returned to playing after a chainsaw accident.

John Millhouse from Blue Lake was runner up with 37 and Mount Gambier’s Rob Harkness finished third with 36.

Second division went to Penola’s Trev Williams with 35 from Beachport pair Chris Carr and Ian Telfer.

The Ross Orchard trophy was taken by Tank Thompson and Colin Rex while Kevin Cook had a good day with a nearest the pin and other prizes.

The Scotch went home with Simon Browning and you needed 28 points to get a ball in the rundown.

Looking ahead to next week on May 13 there will be a three way challenge at Harrow between the Wimmera and Glenelg and South East, followed by another challenge with Glenelg at Casterton on May 27.
