Weekly wins shared across club competition

KEN DANCEY & MARION COWLAND – GOLF


A FIELD of 16 played a Stableford round on Wednesday, the winner on the day was Maurice Faroe (9) with 39 points from Ian Thompson (12) on 36 points.


Nearest the pints to Gary Hegarty 2nd, Gene Thompson 8th, Ewan Herring 13th and A Skinner 17th; second shot on the 9th to Maurice Faroe.


We welcome back Rob Muller for his first round in a few years and a respectable score as well.


Tyrepower award went to Steve Munro.


Saturday was another Stableford round sponsored by Ken Dancey with a field of 19 players.


Winner was Alan Rees with 38 points from Warren Southern (25) on 37 points.


NTPs to Roy McCallum 2nd, Ewan Herring 8th, Bill May 13th and Mr Greg Fry 17th.


Next week is a stroke round and Monthly Medal Day sponsored by Tyrepower Casterton.


Women


THE women played the Doris Chambers foursomes last Wednesday.


The winners with a great score of 39 stableford points were Sharon McGrath and Marg Ferguson.


Runners-up were Denise Newell and Marion Cowland with 37 points.


The winners have now qualified to represent the Casterton Golf Club in the state final of the Doris Chambers event, to be held in Melbourne in October. Winners – Sharon McGrath and Marg Ferguson. Runners-up – Denise Newell and Marion Cowland. Nearest the pins – 2nd Sandra McGann, 8th Marg Ferguson, 17th Denise Gill.
