A“Coonawarra @ Heart Masterclass” will be held at Katnook Stables on July 16, from 10.30am to noon and it will offer a special experience in Coonawarra during Cellar Dwellers.
The Masterclass is a new event not to be missed which will highlight the amazing ageing ability of Coonawarra wines.
The five iconic Coonawarra wineries participating include Majella Wines, Balnaves of Coonawarra, Leconfield Coonawarra, Bowen Estate and Katnook Estate.
The Winemakers will come together to compare the superior ageing ability of Cabernet Sauvignon from 2010, one of the best vintages on record, to the current release.
Bowen Estate director Joy Bowen said the masterclass was Kirsty Balnaves’ idea and believed it would be very positive in showcasing Coonawarra wines, particularly the five wineries involved.
“It is unique and it’s a great opportunity to do that comparison, you would not be able to do it elsewhere,” Ms Bowen said.
“The Winemakers involved will be very proud to be showing the group of people who are attending their wines.
“Most of the Winemakers would have actually made the older wines as well as the younger wines.
“I think it’s something a bit different and it showcases the area.”
Each winemaker will discuss their hand-crafted wines and talk about the finer details of the ageing of wine.
Wines will be available to purchase after the event and because the event is very limited, visit www.trybooking.com/BXTJD for essential bookings.
