An official opening date has been set for Mount Gambier’s brand-new Wulanda Recreation and Convention Centre.
The $57m Margaret Street centre, which had a soft opening in the lead up to Christmas, will be officially opened on March 16, with South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas and keynote speaker Paralympic athlete Katrina Webb OAM attending the landmark event.
Wulanda, meaning ‘enjoy or cherish’ in Bunganditj, is a gathering place in Mount Gambier to participate in sports, recreation, community activities and events.
The community is invited to attend one of two keynote addresses by Paralympic athlete Katrina Webb and the City Showcase, celebrating our community and the many organisations that play a vital part in enhancing the city’s social fabric.
The Premier of South Australia will spearhead the celebrations with other dignitaries, and keynote speaker Ms Webb to deliver two powerful presentations at 3pm and 6pm.
Members of the public can visit bit.ly/wulanda-keynote-speaker-sessions to book a seat for the opening celebration.
