Penola stepped it up in the second quarter with some strong offence from Tess Porter, Shelly Crawford and shooters Tegan Lythgo and Ivy Wurst who helped extend Penola’s lead out even further.
In the third quarter Padthaway’s defence held strong and managed to slow Penola’s attack which was a credit to the Padthaway girls as Penola were really starting to press hard.
The fourth quarter saw Phoebe Manarangi switch into WA and Lily Hackwell take the court in WD, both had an immediate impact on the game.
But it was the consist defensive pressure that was applied by Heidi Berkin and Stella O’Brien not only in the fourth but throughout the whole game that helped Penola get across the line.
