Hawks vs Tigers
The Limestone Coast Women’s Football League Under 16 competition headed into round four on the weekend, as the Hawks faced off against the Tigers in an extremely one sided match.

It turned out to be an impressive showcase of talent and skill as the Tigers triumphed convincingly with a final score of 106 to 0, marking a dominant victory.

The game began with the Tigers taking control right from the outset, establishing a commanding lead during the first quarter.

The Hawks U16 girls struggled to get past the Tigers defence and impact the scoreboard, resulting in a scoreless first quarter for the Hawks.

The Tigers, on the other hand, were excellent in attack and dominant in the midfield, scoring 24 points in the opening period.

The second quarter was a continuation of the Tigers’ dominance as they piled on the goals to have a 62 point lead at half time.

The Hawks were still unable to break through and remained scoreless at the main break, facing an uphill battle to get back into the match.

The Tigers midfield demonstrated excellent control of the game, preventing the Hawks midfield from making any significant impact.

The third quarter played out similarly, with the Tigers continuing to increase their lead.

The Hawks put up more resistance, and their defence did their best to limit the Tigers forward line scoreboard impact.

However, the side was outplayed in the midfield all day.

Going into the final term the Hawks were 90 points down, with the final quarter a formality with the result not in any doubt.

The final quarter saw the Tigers wrapping the match up with two additional goals, finishing the match 106 points in front.

The Hawks fought valiantly, but the Tigers dominance proved too much to overcome.

The final scoreline read Hawks 0.0 (0) to Tigers 15.16 (106), with the Tigers winning their second match in a row.

The Hawks, on the other hand, were unable to put any points on the board, extending the side’s winless streak in the league to three games and sitting second to last on the ladder.

Hawks best players on a tough day were Addison Graney, Abby Brant, Aynslee Hayman, Ava Hosking, Lola Geddes and Sophie Milich, while Grace Altschwager, Becky Davis, Layla McPherson, Jenna Baron, Kaylee McNair and Penny Coleman stood out for the Tigers.

Layla McPherson was phenomenal in the forward line kicking seven majors for the Tigers to help her side climb to second on the ladder.


Kyby Tigers v Hatherleigh

Hatherleigh continued its unbeaten run with its biggest win yet, crushing Kyby Tigers by 144 points in round four of the Limestone Coast Women’s Football League Under 16 competition.

The first quarter saw Hatherleigh making a strong statement as they scored an impressive 41 points, showing their intent to take control of the match right from the start.

The Kyby Tigers faced a challenging quarter, unable to put any points on the board and overrun in all areas of the field.

The second quarter continued to favour Hatherleigh, as the Eagles added 26 more points to their score and again kept Kyby scoreless to hold a 67 point half time lead.

The Kyby Tigers were still unable to break through and remained scoreless in the third quarter.

In the third stanza Hatherleigh piled on the goals in a dominant display, the Eagles completely overtook Kyby in the midfield and the forward line was lethal.

By the final break Hatherleigh had a 108 point lead with Kyby looking to keep the damage to a minimum in the final term.

As the game entered the final quarter, Hatherleigh remained relentless, adding another 36 points to their total.

The Kyby Tigers continued to give their best effort, but they could not match the firepower of Hatherleigh and finished scoreless.

The final scoreline was Kyby Tigers 0.0 (0) to Hatherleigh 21.18 (144), with Hatherleigh securing an impressive statement victory.

Key players for the Kyby Tigers included Paige Rasheed, Jessica Cox, Alice McKenzie, Piper Wardle, Chloe Copping and Brooke Crouch.

Hatherleigh’s standout performances came from Hannah Bellinger, Chloe Bellinger, Jeda Hibberd, Amber Chester and Asha Gysbers.

Amber Chester was dominant in the forward line, kicking five goals, along with Niah Faulkner, Chloe and Hannah Bellinger who all kicked three.

Hatherleigh sits comfortably at the top of the ladder with four straight wins, while Kyby Tigers sit third with two wins and one loss.

The Kyby Tigers will now face a tough challenge against an in form North Gambier, while Hatherleigh will enter the bye hoping to pick up its red hot form again in round six.
