Doctors will again be consulting at Beachport from today after a break of almost eight months.
Dr Claire Thompson is scheduled to see her first patient at 9am and all of her appointments have been taken for today.
Dr Thompson and another senior doctor James Bushell from the Medical Clinic Millicent will be on duty each Monday and Thursday.
They are long-standing partners in the practice and both hold the coveted status of being Fellows of the Royal Australian College of General Practice.
Medical Clinic Millicent practice manager Bronwyn Barker said one of the two GP’s would be on duty.
She said they would be supported on site by clerical and nursing staff.
The Limestone Coast Health Trust closed its Beachport clinic at Christmas due to a shortage of GPs.
In other Medical Clinic Millicent news, it has produced a five-minute film clip which promotes the practice and towns of Millicent, Beachport and Southend.
It features interviews with the five GPs who own the practice and is designed to attract additional doctors to the area.
The film clip has been posted online and makes extensive use of aerial photography via a drone.
It was produced by Reuben Van Eeden: son of clinic partner Dr Stephan Van Eeden.
