International carves out hard-fought win on the road

Acaptivating encounter took place at the McLaughlin Park, where Millicent United faced off against the formidable International in a closely contested Round 13 match.

The final score of 1 – 2 in favour of International in what was an important away win for the black and blue.

The match began with both teams having attacking runs, but it was International that took the lead in the 26th minute.

Evany Rex would once again be Internationals goal scorer finding the back of the net to put her team ahead 1 – 0.

This early goal set the tone for an exciting and competitive match.

Millicent United responded and fought to find an equaliser and the home team’s efforts were rewarded in the 37th minute.

The dangerous Lana Shepherd showcased her skills by delivering a crucial goal, levelling the score at 1 – 1.

The second half saw both teams pushing hard to break the deadlock.

Evany Rex once again proved to be the difference-maker for International when in the 54th minute, Rex struck a crucial goal, putting her team ahead 2 – 1.

Her ability to seize key moments in the match was evident and despite the best efforts of Millicent United, International defence were able to withstand the pressure.

The match remained intensely competitive, with both teams battling for control in the midfield and creating opportunities.

The final whistle signalled the end of a hard-fought match, with International emerging as the winners with a score of 2 – 1.

Millicent United will look to bounce back next week when it faces off against bottom placed Naracoorte, while International now sit third and will aim to build on this victory next week when they face Centrals.

Naracoorte v Blue Lake
A commanding performance unfolded at Naracoorte, where bottom placed Naracoorte United faced off against a formidable opponent, in second placed Blue Lake, in an exciting Round 13 match.

The final score of 0 – 5 in favour of Blue Lake Soccer Club highlighted the visitors dominance throughout the game.

Blue Lake seized control of the game early and would not give it up.

Blue Lake would create many chances in the first half but Naracoortes defence would do enough to go into halftime all tied up at 0 – 0.

In the 53rd minute, Jasmine White broke the deadlock, giving Blue Lake the lead with a well-timed strike, making it 1 – 0.

Blue Lake did not let up and continued to apply pressure on the Naracoorte United defence, with the opening goal opening the floodgates.

In the 59th minute, Chelsea Frost extended their lead to 2 – 0, putting Naracoorte United on the back foot.

A crucial moment came in the 69th minute when Jasmine White converted a penalty, further solidifying Blue Lake’s dominance at 3 – 0.

Naracoorte United fought hard to regain their foothold in the match, but the Blue Lake defence remained strong.

In the 73rd minute, Amber Lindquist found the net, increasing Blue Lake’s lead to 4 – 0.

Jasmine White continued to make her presence felt, completing her brace with a goal in the 77th minute, sealing the match at 5 – 0 in favour of Blue Lake.

Her consistent performance was a key factor in Blue Lake’s impressive victory.

Naracoortre remain last placed on the ladder, while Blue Lake continue to fight for a top two spot with a massive match against Apollo next week.
