St. Anthony’s Catholic Primary School welcomes all families who desire a quality education for their children in a compassionate environment to attend the upcoming Catholic Schools Open Week.
The school will celebrate how Catholic schools are ‘Raising Hearts and Minds’.
This year, St.
Anthony’s will host a myriad of activities with principal and school captain tours, open classrooms showcase, Big Book afternoon, and a come and try reception session.
School principal Liza Couzens said these activities are designed to highlight the wonderful opportunities the school provides.
“This is also an excellent introduction for families to explore the benefits of a Catholic Education for their children,” she said.
“We extend a personal invitation to visit us and view our education programs in action.”
An open classrooms and Big Book afternoon take place on Wednesday, August 21 from 3.10pm to 4.30pm.
A come and try reception morning for 2025 reception students and families will be held on Friday, August 23 from 8.50am to 10am.
Ms Couzens said all students and families from all backgrounds are warmly welcomed to join the St.
Anthony’s primary school community.
“Underpinning everything we do is the belief that ‘Every Child Matters’,” she said.
“We ensure every child matters to their teachers, peers and the whole community, facilitating an inclusive environment where each child can thrive holistically.
“Learning at St. Anthony’s extends beyond high academic achievement.
“We help every child understand their unique qualities and value the unique qualities of others, knowing that self-awareness and self-respect are only truly possible when one is compassionate and respectful of others.
“We encourage students to explore their interests and talents and provide quality facilities and opportunities to enable them to thrive.
“This holistic approach that develops the whole child ensures that St. Anthony’s prepares students for their academic future and life outside of school.
“Self-respect, respect for others, and a positive attitude towards life are foundational principles at St. Anthony’s Catholic Primary School.
“These values are crucial in shaping students’ lives and preparing them for the future.”
This year is significant for the school and wider community as it celebrates 125 years since the Sisters of Mercy opened the doors to welcome their very first students at the site.
This year-long celebration will provide many opportunities for past students and staff to reminisce, reconnect, and rekindle friendships.
To officially mark the beginning of the year-long celebrations, the school held an opening ceremony of the 125 years in February.
Other upcoming events to take place to celebrate the milestone include a Gala Dinner, Art Exhibition and opening of the time capsule on November 7.
The following day, November 8, will be school tours of new buildings and 125 year commemorative walk.
