Registrations are now open for a local leadership program that participants have described as “life changing”.
‘All Leaders at all levels’ is the motto for this phase of the Limestone Coast Leadership Program, hosted by Regional Development Australia Limestone Coast (RDALC).
Organisation chief executive Lauren Oxlade said participants in the Emerging Leaders Program will gain confidence and foundational leadership skills, with six months of training, mentoring and building connections.
Short course opportunities in project management, finance and governance, as well as future skills will be available for those not looking for the intensive program.
“We are very excited to add an executive leader offering to the program this year,” Ms Oxlade said.
“There are some incredible people in our region, outstanding leaders in business and the community.
“We want to bring them together to share their experience and offer opportunities to master skills here in the Limestone Coast.”
Sponsors, previous participants and potential candidates were given a sneak peek of the new approach at an intimate gathering, hosted by the Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development Clare Scriven.
Minister Scriven spoke about her passion for leadership development and how the program that started as a pilot in the Limestone Coast is now delivered across the state.
Attendees were moved to action by the inspiring speech from previous participant and new RDALC board member Dr Abigail Goodman.
Dr Goodman spoke about her feelings of waiting to be recognised, before giving herself permission to apply for the first program in 2019.
Anyone interested can meet with previous participants at networking events in Naracoorte on September 6 and Mount Gambier on September 10.
