Community radio awards

Representatives from Millicent community radio station 5THE FM were twice called to the podium at the recent annual South Australian Community Broadcast Association awards night in Adelaide.

Station chairman David Walshaw said 5THE FM was overwhelmed to take out the Community Engagement Award from over 37 other stations

“Wednesday Night Experience presenters Chris Copeland and Bear were runners up in the Volunteer of the Year category which was an outstanding achievement,” Mr Walshaw said.

“Bear is actually a French bulldog and the station mascot while Chris has been a longtime presenter and committee member.

“Representing 5THE FM at the event were presenters Dave Roberts and Paul McRobert who attended over the two days and enjoyed the breakout training sessions and the visits to other studios.”
