Last Wednesday, 27 women’s golfers participated in the Peter Jennings Pumps Monthly Medal sponsored by and the Janine Jenner Putting Competition at Attamurra.
The day was clear but very cold, which thus affected the greens.
They were running very true but very quick, making putting a little tricky.
Winning the prestigious Monthly Medal for the second time this season was Helen McIntyre, who recorded 92-19-73, consistently scoring 49 off the stick for both front and back nines.
She scored a great birdie on the Par 3 16th hole.
Kathy Ewer has settled into her new golfing home very nicely and has managed to play consistently over the past few months.
She scored a 98-24-74 to take second place with splits of 49 off the stick for both nines also.
Unlucky Janina Morrison lost on a countback to come in third with 97-23-74.
Morrison had a very good front nine with 45 off the stick, but found the long back nine a little harder.
The golfers winning a ball each were Maxine McGregor, Faye Mainwaring, Jennette Braun and Jan Shanahan.
It was no surprise the putting competition went to arguably the best putter in the club Faye Mainwaring, with just 30 putts.
In the speciality prizes the Pro Shot was won by Vicki Clark, the second Shot to the 10th Par 3 Green the prize went to A Grade’s Helen McIntrye, B Grade’s Sue Coulter and C Grade’s Pauline Paterson.
Next week’s competition of the day will be a stableford, with lots of women away participating in Country Week.
