Aman charged with murder will remain in custody until his next court appearance.
Paul James Roomes, 65, of no fixed address, appeared in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court last week charged with murder, committing assault and trespass following an incident in Bond Street in the Blue Lake city.
Police and ambulance crews were called to a block of units in the street on Tuesday afternoon following reports of a disturbance.
Paramedics treated the 65-year-old occupant who had suffered serious injuries, before transporting him to the Mount Gambier Hospital, where he died.
Mr Roomes was charged several hours later and appeared in court on Wednesday, where he did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody.
A charge determination hearing has been scheduled for November 18.
