International v Naracoorte
International has been tearing through the rest of the competition in the first four rounds of the Barry Maney Group Limestone Coast Premier League.
Naracoorte United is the next team to try and stop the black and blue, and it will be an incredibly tough ask for a side that is yet to record a win in its first four games.
Naracoorte has struggled early in the season and will look to find some improvement when taking on the most in-form team in the competition.
International will be confident it can breeze past the fifth placed team at home and claim another three points.
Naracoorte’s defenders will be well aware of the incredible attacking power International has displayed this year and will hope it can be the team to find an answer to the attack.
International has had seven different scorers in the first four rounds, the most of any team and all have kicked at least three.
Naracoorte’s attack has performed well this season kicking eight goals already, however International is yet to concede at all this season, showing just how hard it is to go past the International defence.
To win the game Naracoorte needs goals and International has made that impossible for every other team it has faced so far, meaning Naracoorte is in for a tough contest.
Centrals v Blue Lake
It’s still early in the season but both Centrals and Blue Lake look like they have sides that will be playing finals this season, which makes this round five clash a real six pointer.
A win here could be the difference between one of these teams having a double chance in finals.
Blue Lake has been playing well since its defeat against International with two consecutive wins to have the Rangers sitting second on the table.
Centrals has not looked the same as its back to back premiers team early in the season and will need to find improvement if it is to challenge for a three peat.
Both sides have players who have been standouts in front of goal with them tying the leading goal scorers for the league.
Blue Lake’s Shar Nay Than has proved incredibly dangerous in front of goal so far this season, netting seven goals from four matches.
Sam Shoemark has been incredibly important to the Centrals’ attack also kicking seven goals from four matches, playing a crucial role in the side’s two wins.
Blue Lake’s defence has proven leaky this season, conceding 12 goals already, and Shoemark and Centrals will attempt to exploit their shortcomings.
It’s a massive battle between second and fourth with the result playing a huge part in the rest of their seasons.
Millicent v Apollo
Apollo will hope it can bounce back after an extremely disappointing result against International.
The side will make the trip to Millicent with the intent of returning to the winners list after a 7-0 thumping on Sunday.
Millicent will also be hoping to join the winners list for the first time this season.
Millicent United sits last only on goal difference and while it is early season the side is five points from the top four already, and if Millicent does not show signs of improvement soon it could be looking at another year without finals soccer.
Gay Nay Say Ler has been a stand out for Apollo so far and has proved dangerous, so he and the rest of Apollo’s attack will be excited at the opportunity to play the worst defence in the league.
Millicent has already conceded 30 goals this season from four games with zero clean sheets.
Apollo has not been the most dangerous team in front of goal with the worst goal difference in the top four, with only eight goals, but the Millicent game could be a prime opportunity for it to give the goal difference a boost which could be handy come finals.
It’s a big game for both sides as they look to prove themselves to the rest of the competition, but one will surely leave the ground disappointed.
