An art exhibition titled ‘DOG.’ has raised more than $1500 dollars for the South East Animal Welfare League (SEAWL) through the silent auction of 21 original pieces held at Mount Gambier business Confession.
The artworks were created by local artists Meghan Amoroso, Rachel Clayfield, Tennille Stevens, Larissa King, Phoenix Lomas, Amelia Taylor, Alexa Balog, Evie Thompson and Lukas Dodds.
The original pieces were let off leash at Confession for two months while the prints continue to decorate the Hastings Cunningham Reserve Dog Park until the weather wears them down.
The project was funded by the Mount Gambier City Council Creative Arts Fund and led by Tenison Woods College art teacher Mrs Amoroso.
“Congratulations and thank you to all the auction bidders,” Mrs Amoroso said.
“Thank you again to all of the talented and selfless artists who made this possible.”
The SEAWL was delighted by the exhibition and funding raised.
“Appreciation to the young artists in our community who raised this incredible donation for SEAWL,” a SEAWL spokesperson said.
“We love your work and thank you to those that purchased the art works.”
