All-hours, no cost support service available to support people through pandemic
Australian mental health and well-being support charity Beyond Blue is reminding Australians should they need someone to chat with during the pandemic, their help is there.
The Coronavirus Mental Wellbeing Support Service – available on 1800 512 348 or at coronavirus.beyondblue.org.au – is specifically designed to support people through the pandemic.
It is available at all-hours and at no cost to callers and offers tips and strategies for self-guided support, referrals, information and support from counsellors briefed on the pandemic response.
In addition to being delivered as a hotline, the support service includes a helpful website with a host of information, advice and strategies to help people manage their well-being and mental health.
This includes information on how to prepare for hotel quarantine, guides on how to work from home safely and productively, how to manage your alcohol intake and how to manage anxiety about having the coronavirus vaccine.
The website is regularly updated and you can stay up to via the Beyond Blue email community.
Moreover, translation services are available with free translation support from the Translating and Interpreting Service.
Further information on this can be found at: www.tisnational.gov.au or by contacting 131 450.
In addition, Beyond Blue’s well-known Beyond Blue Support Service continues to operate as usual, providing support for those experiencing suicidality, anxiety and depression.
The Beyond Blue Support Service can be accessed via beyondblue.org.au/getsupport or by phoning 1300 22 4636.
