Blue Lake Y club young guns perform well at state championships

Seven swimmers from Blue Lake Y Swim Club competed at the recent SA State Swimming Championships at the SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre in Adelaide.

Hayley, Aleisha and Mikayla Pearson, Thomas and Nicholas Bignell, Haydn Lowe and Annabelle Solomons all represented the club with flying colours collecting many PB’s.

They also made a strong presence in finals with six medal wins and a SA Country record broken.

Thomas Bignell made finals in all events and smashed the 16-year-old 50m breaststroke SA Country record.

He claimed silver in that event and also took home three bronze medals.

Hayley Pearson claimed silver and bronze in the 17-18-year-old 50m fly and 100m fly events respectively, while Lowe swam personal bests in all his events and Nicholas Bignell overcame his top 100m breaststroke time too.
