Bowlers battle in heat

The weekly Millicent Bowls Club 2-4-2 players had to soldier through very warm conditions with temperatures reaching 34C.

A total of 24 players took to the greens to play 20 ends of bowls.

Before going out to play the president congratulated Sarah and Adriana Ross who won the ladies’ champions of champions pairs for the Lower South East Bowls Association.

The winning pair with a score of 34+17 were Peter Bateman and Arthur O’Connell, while runners-up with a score of 32+20 were Chris Earl and John Drew.

Other winning teams were, Garth Baker, David Crase 32+13, David Botting, Derrick Lindh 31+7, Robert Radley, Malcolm Wright 31+3 and Terry Lonergan, Frank Cooper 30+6.

Frank Cooper was also lucky enough to win the Chris’s Barber Shop hair cut voucher.
