Bowlers ‘tip hat’ to season

Despite the past year having been blighted by Covid and all the restrictions imposed on the sport, the Mount Gambier Bowls Club managed to complete a full season. 

The presentations night to complete the program was attended by 60 members to recognise the achievements of those who had won Championships. 

The biggest celebration was for the Division 1 team which won the club’s first Pennant premiership since 2013-14. 

Another achievement was the Division 2 Red Pennant team winning promotion to Division 1. 

Bill Knowles was presented with a Veterans badge and Beryl Versluis with Super Veteran prior to the awards to championship winners. 

RESULTS:  Sealey Cup winner – Grey Carpenter; runner up – Peter Radley. 

Jack Put Legacy pairs winners – Bryan Vorwerk and Tony Renzi; runners up – Jason Kuring and Brad Errock. 

100 Up winner – Bryan Vorwerk; runner up – Brad Errock. 

Mixed Fours winners – Kathy Gray, Mark McDonald, Tony Renzi and Adam Wilson; runners up Barb Butchart, Ross Kilsby, Jim Butchart and Bob Cranwell. 

Men’s veterans singles winner – Gary  Widdison; runner up Jeff England. 

Ladies’ veteran singles winner – Beryl Versluis; runner up – Helen Kentish. 

Men’s pairs winners – William Bremner and Adam Wilson; runners up – Daniel Langdon and Tony Bowditch. 

Ladies’ pairs winners – Beryl Versluis and Kerry Pedlar; runners up – Leanne Hentschke and Kristy Errock. 

Men’s triples winners – Daniel Langdon, Adam Wilson, and Tony Bowditch; runners up – William Bremner, Eddie Smith and Ian von Stanke. 

Ladies’ triples winners – Kathy Gray, Maryke Heaver, and Leanne Hentschke; runners up – Gaylene Leggett, Coral Clarke and Beryl Versluis. 

Men’s fours winners Rex Klaassens, Jason Kuring, Greg Carpenter and Tony Bowditch; runners up Brian Francis, John Hughes, David Babb and Gary Widdison. 

Ladies’ fours winners – Gaylene Leggett, Barb Milstead, Maryke Heaver and Beryl Versluis; runners up Kathy Gray, Coral Clarke, Kristy Errock and Leanne Hentschke. 

Men’s singles champion – Peter Reppin; runner up Greg Carpenter. 

Ladies’ singles champion – Kristy Errock; runner up – Leanne Hentschke.
