Bowls still strong at Millicent

The Millicent Bowls Club had 31 players register to play last week’s round of 2-4-2 bowls with the weather going from one extreme to another.

In the previous round all games were washed out after just nine ends but this week the sun was shining with a slight breeze.

Before going out to play all players were informed the sheets are now out for the Championship Mixed Pairs and Championship Triples for players to register.

Also if players require new uniforms for the upcoming season they are urged to contact Bar Manager Arthur O’Connell.

The winning team for this week with a score of 35+28 shots up was the duo of Jim Campbell and Derk Pietersma.

Coming in second with a score of 33+19 shots was the team of Steve Skeer and Derek Bowering.

Other winning teams were a triple of Rob Atkinson, Frank Cooper and Kym Stewart 32+1, Graham Loveday and Iain Campbell 31+10, Lurlene Reinders and Steve Carnellor 31+8, Ian Ross and Aaron Emonson 31+6 and Joy Warren and Andre Reinders 30+4.
