Care workers celebrated

Aged Care Employee Day was marked at various locations across the Limestone Coast on Sunday to celebrate and honour Australia’s aged care workers.

The theme this year was Thanks for Caring and it recognised all workers involved in the journey of caring for people who receive aged care services, including nurses and care workers, allied health professionals, administration staff, cleaners, volunteers and more.

Across the Limestone Coast Local Health Network, there are over 450 employees and volunteers who work within the region’s aged care sector whether it be at residential aged care facilities or within the homes of those in the community.

“We thank all our aged care workers for the work they do each and every day and their commitment to caring for people in the community,” said a Limestone Coast Local Health Network spokesperson.

“To mark the occasion, our aged care workers were gifted with some chocolates and a Certificate of Appreciation.”
