Cash splashed on swim club equipment

Member for Barker Tony Pasin has been the bearer of good news for the Blue Lake Y Swim Club after it was awarded $3000 through the Volunteer Grant Program.

Mr Pasin said he was proud to deliver volunteer grants to volunteers and their organisations in Barker to support the crucial role they played within our
community.

“The Blue Lake Y Swim Club includes a dedicated group of volunteers that provide an inclusive environment for swimmers of all levels,” Mr Pasin said.

“It’s fantastic to be able to support the club with this small grant.”

The grant will enable the Blue Lake Y Swim Club to design and build a lockable cage for the safe storage of swim equipment.

The custom designed cage will house a first aid kit, whiteboards for teaching and training sets and other swim club related items.

It would be portable and easy to manoeuvre to enable use at both the outdoor 50m pool and indoor 25m pool.

“The ability for coaches and volunteers to safely move and store the equipment needed is a welcome addition which will assist volunteers to focus on what they do best – supporting swimmers,” Mr Pasin said.

“In my role as the Member for Barker I have seen firsthand the impact volunteering has in our communities throughout the electorate and it is an honour to recommend and support organisations like Blue Lake Y Swim.

“This grant, together with others like it, will go some way to making volunteering easier for the thousands of volunteers who regularly volunteer their time selflessly for the benefit of others.

This grant will go a small way to acknowledging and thanking the volunteers at Blue Lake Y Swim Club for the generous contribution of their time, effort and skills.”
