Cherries and Christmas go hand-in-hand and so there was great demand for the juicy products at the Millicent Cherry Farm when farm-gate selling began on December 19.
The ripening season happily coincided with the festive season with the Rendelsham Road outlet building an enviable reputation for quality fruit over the past decade.
The size, sweetness, freshness and flavour of Millicent cherries are regarded as its selling points.
The 600 cherry and 60 peach trees on the property were planted by original owners John and Lyn Scudds in 2010 and they are all under protective nets.
They had earlier purchased the property of Millicent entertainer Allan Webster and turned his music room into a sales outlet with fridges.
The current owners of the Millicent Cherry Farm are Christine and Dave Thorneycroft and they moved to this area from Western Australia around five years ago.
