Choral society ‘on song’

Members of the Millicent Choral Society have continued their long association with two Mount Gambier groups with two events in the space of a month.

The local singers headed to the Blue Lake city last month as they again accepted an invitation to perform at the annual Anzac Accolade at the Mount Gambier Salvation Army Citadel.

Millicent chorister Tim Frost is the head of the Salvation Army corps in both Milicent and Mount Gambier.

The Millicent Choral Society will next be putting on a Sunday afternoon performance on May 28 at the Millicent War Memorial Civic and Arts Centre.

Joining them on stage from 2.30pm will be musicians from the South East Concert Band.

Their program will be devoted to love songs and is billed as a “Valentine’s Day in May”.

The groups from the two population centres have combined their talents in years past with the most recent concerts being in 2016 and last year.

A joint performance was scheduled for 2021 but was cancelled on account of COVID protocols.
