City cyclist injured in hit and run

Police are seeking information from the public following a hit run crash at Glenburnie early on Thursday morning.

About 5.40am a man was riding his pushbike on Jubilee Highway East near Blue Lake Sports Park when he was struck by a car and knocked from his bicycle.

The rider, a 46-year-old Mount Gambier man, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was conveyed to the Mount Gambier Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle allegedly left the scene without stopping or providing assistance to the injured rider.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash or any other information that may assist the investigation. Police are also seeking anyone with dash cam footage that may relate to the collision.
