City fight arrest made

Police have arrested a man and are looking for witnesses following an investigation into a fight at Mount Gambier earlier this month.

About 1.20am on Sunday, April 3 police were called to a hotel on Bay Road after reports of a large fight.

When police arrived they found a 27-year-old security guard had been assaulted and he required treatment at hospital for a suspected broken jaw.

An 18-year-old local man was arrested for assault causing harm and bailed to appear in the Mount Gambier Magistrates court on May 24. He was also issued with a barring order for 3 months from the venue.

Investigators urge anyone who may have mobile phone footage of the incident to contact police. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
