Close on-court encounters witnessed

Last week’s Mount Gambier and District Tennis Association Fast4 competition had some great match ups on the cards and the results did not disappoint, with plenty of close encounters on the night.

The battle of Mil Lel was first up, with White taking on Green.

Players were looking for bragging rights, not just on the court, but in the same household in some cases; and at the end of night the teams could not be separated.

After all of the action, the first draw of the season occurred with the scoreboard locked at 3-16 to 3-16.

Lochie and CJ Arnold went head-to-head all night and the latter came out on top two sets to one, so hopefully there was not any love lost between the brothers as a result.

Phil Pedlar proved too strong in his matches, helping his side secure three wins, while Brian Douglas also put in a solid performance for the Green side.

The Violet Crumbles good start to the season has continued, with a solid victory over a spirited Court Jesters team.

There were plenty of ups and downs in this contest, with three sets finishing with a score line of 4-0.

Despite some of the lop-sided results, The Violet Crumbles came out on top, but only just, 4-19 to 2-20.

Sergio Cesaro tried hard for the Jesters, contributing to the teams two set wins, whilst Jarrod Carey put in a great performance to go undefeated for the night.

Double Dutch made it two wins in a row, with a sensational win over their much more fancied opponents Too Cole for School.

With a couple of new faces came on the court for the Double Dutch side, they teamed up to perfection to take the win 4-19 to 2-17.

Dane Heemskerk starred for the winners.

In the last match, Suttontown accounted for Mount Schank 4-20 to 2-19.

A lot of tight contests in this one, with Suttontown getting lucky on a few occasions and it ultimately got them over the line.
