Club gets out of rough

The Keith Golf Club has received a grant of $52,883 to improve the comfort, amenity and functionality of its facility through the Federal Government’s Tackling Tough Times Together program.

Keith Golf Club president Mark Wachtel welcomed the funding announcement.

“By obtaining the Tackling Tough Times Together grant from the Federal Government, the club will be able to complete our renovations, which will benefit our volunteers in their daily tasks,” he said.

“Volunteers are everything to our club, we aim to do everything we can for them as the hours they do are countless.

“We are also proud that we will have an up to date facility for all of the community to benefit from.”

Federal Member for Barker Tony Pasin said the club previously received a $63,000 grant through the government’s Drought Communities program.

“That previous funding enabled the club to rebuild the men’s and ladies’ bathrooms and create a new disability toilet,” he said.

“Federal Government funding delivered to the Keith Golf Club over recent months totals $115,883, which is a great outcome for the Keith and district community.

“I’m proud that I can point to projects right across the electorate like the Keith Golf Club refurbishment, that are making a real difference to residents in their local communities.”
