The Millicent Golf Club sent a 23-strong contingent to Loxton on the June long weekend for the Tri Challenge event between the Loxton, Blackwood and Millicent golf clubs.
Millicent members participated in the stableford competition on Saturday where Heidi Muhovics recorded a score of 42 points to be named best player of the day.
On Sunday there were 89 players in the field for the main event, the Tri Challenge.
The best 10 scores from each club were calculated with the win coming down to the narrowest of margins as Millicent was declared the winner on 330 points, followed by Loxton and Blackwood, both on 329 points.
Millicent’s team consisted of Jamie Muhovics with 37 points, Glen Tilley and Spike Warren – 35 points, Scott Lonergan and Bec Shanks – 33 points, Heather Anderson, Anthony Driessen and Andy Fisher – 32 points, David Seymour – 31 and Bronwyn Clarke on 30.
Jamie Muhovics and Bec Shanks were awarded prizes for the best Millicent men’s and women’s scores with 37 and 33 respectively.
The third and final round of the Tri Challenge event will be held at Millicent over the October long weekend.
Blackwood currently hholds the lead with 711 pointts, followed close behind with Millicent on 666 and Loxton on 607.
Millicent will hope to use its home course advantage to retain the Tri Challenge Shield.
