Club ties run deep

With a proud history dating back to colonial times, there are hundreds of players who have pulled on the whites to represent the Rendelsham Cricket Club.

Locals appreciate its picturesque ground, social club facilities, keen competitive spirit and fellowship.

It has been at the forefront of such charitable events as the Pink Stumps fundraiser to benefit the McGrath Foundation and its breast cancer nurses.

As a result, Rendelsham has attracted more than its share of the transient population such as teachers, bankers and police officers.

To ensure these social ties are maintained, the Rendelsham Cricket Club stages a reunion each year when the test match is played at Adelaide Oval.

Past and present cricketers gather at the David Hookes Bar and swap stories of deeds with bat and ball over an ale or two.

The reunions have been running for about 15 years and attract an attendance of about 30.
