The Pink Up Penola committee has raised an incredible $11,367 for the Cancer Council SA Greenhill Road Project in Adelaide, with the help of the generous Penola community.
The new Greenhill Road building will provide 120 rooms of supportive accommodation for South Australians living in rural or regional areas who are impacted by cancer, alongside cancer research, prevention information and support services.
Pink Up Penola committee members said they could not begin to express their gratitude to everyone who supported by donating and purchasing items and said they were blessed with a generous and supportive community.
“A huge thank you to every single donor of cash or prizes or auction items, every person that attended the cocktail night, purchased auction items, raffle tickets or made donations in memory of loved ones,” a committee spokesperson said.
The money raised has been allocated towards various household items including furniture, appliances, kitchen packages and kids book vouchers, which will ensure a comfortable stay for people using the facilities.
Money was raised through donations from the Penola community, including a cocktail night, a Facebook auction of donated items and a generous family who asked for donations in lieu of flowers.
