Council office plan awaits assessment

The development application lodged with Planning SA for the proposed $5.5m council offices in Millicent is currently listed as being “under assessment”.

The documents were submitted by Wattle Range Council project manager Muni Krishna last month and its status has been published on the website of this State Government agency.

According to a council staff report, it is hoped the final build will be approved in the 2022/23 Annual Business Plan.

Although council has given in-principle support to the North Terrace site, it has yet to receive detailed costings or to green light the construction.

The new council office was one of nine development applications lodged with Planning SA from the Millicent area last month.

Among the others were new houses on Sandon Avenue and Mount Gambier Road, operational matters relating to an existing oilseed crushing plant and two land sub-divisions.

In the same period, there were building applications submitted for new houses at Tantanoola and Beachport as well as an extension to the OneFortyOne Plantations tree nursery at Glencoe.
