Mount Gambier’s OGR has rolled out the red carpet donating a Kia to Red Cross with funding from Stand Like Stone.

The vehicle will be used to teach new arrivals to the community how to drive in the Upper South East area of Bordertown, Kingston and Naracoorte.

OGR Dealer Principal Bryce Roberts said he was thankful for the opportunity to give back to the local community.

“At OGR we care about the safety of our roads so we are proud to be a part of an initiative that allows people who have just come to Australia an opportunity they would not otherwise have,” he said.

“We have been part of the community for over 65 years and we are focused on ensuring the next generation and all future generations of people in the South East have a reason to stay and feel warm and welcomed.

“OGR are delighted to help deliver the message of what Red Cross offers across the wonderful region we live in.

“We are proud to support Red Cross now and well into the future.”

Red Cross vice patron Libby Furner echoed the thoughts.

“Thank you very much to Bryce and OG Roberts for your willingness to be part of the community as more than just being a business,” she said.

“For your support of the vulnerable people in our communities right around the Limestone Coast.

“This coming together of organisations is extremely special and it is the vulnerable that benefit from our willingness to be partners.

“It is wonderful these young people have an opportunity to learn to drive but also for the mobile advertising that will be driving round.”
