Concordes White returned to the winner’s circle with a convincing win over their sister side in their catch up round game in the Mount Gambier Softball League.

In the opening inning the Concordes White batters showed their strength with second batter Alli Kreplins hitting a superb home run, and nearly catching her teammate on the way round the bases.

Maddie Bowd, Maddy Sutherland and Di Patzel all chimed in with safe hits to give Concordes White an early five-run lead.

It was then a quick three outs for Concordes United with Kylie Cook accounting for two of the three outs as she went on to have a great day at short stop.

There were limited scoring opportunities in the second innings for either team, but as the game went on the Concordes White batters continued to find safe hits and score the runners on base.

Karly Pearson continued her fine form on the mound and was backed up by quality fielding from her team.

Leonie McCallum, Sarah Thomson and Codie Jackway were the standout fielders for United.

Concordes Whites turned the tables this time however on their sister side to run out winners 11-1.

Safe hits were K Cook, D Patzel 3, A Kreplins (1HR) M Sutherland 2 S Brown, M Bowd 1.

Concordes United
Vs warriors

Concordes United did, however, continue its overall winning form in another strong performance against the Warriors side.

In a strong first innings for Warriors, Ang Queale and Mel Chuck had safe hits resulting in a run scoring for Warriors.

Not to be out done, United’s Codie Jackway, Maddie Bowd and Bec Von Duve led the way in the batting box and three runs were scored.

United then held Warriors in the second and came out firing themselves, scoring five runs, with a triple to gun batter Sarah Thomson another highlight to add to her reel for the season.

In the fourth innings Warriors made a run for the win, with Erin Chaplin, Tash Vickers and Jasmine Disselbach all having safe hits, with a sneaky steal from Disselbach taking United by surprise.

However, in the end the fast start was enough to comfortably get United over the line with a 10-5 victory.
