Cooking up a storm

Millicent chef Melissa Armfield again lived up to her promise of plenty of fun and tasty treats at her free annual cooking class.

The Shearers Cook Café proprietor again donated her time and talent for the Celebrate Seniors Month program.

All 25 places were taken soon after bookings opened. Participants made good use of the commercial kitchen facilities which were installed four years ago at the Millicent RSL Hall.

There were demonstrations, hands on cooking and plenty of laughs.

The focus of the cooking class is always on simple and nutritious meals with Mexican being the 2023 style.

Wattle Range Council has again sponsored the Celebrate Seniors Month program with mostly free activities across the council area throughout October.

The program will culminate on October 31 with the presentation of the Senior of the Year at an afternoon ceremony at the Millicent War Memorial Civic and Arts Centre.
