Court cases drop

A review of case loads has prompted a reduction in court hearings at Millicent and Bordertown. The Magistrates Court will now sit at Millicent every two months and Bordertown quarterly.

In a statement provided to The SE Voice, a spokesperson for the Magistrates Court said a review of court circuits was conducted towards the end of 2020. They said the number of cases in Bordertown had fallen and fewer sittings were required at Millicent, while there was a need for more sitting time in Naracoorte.

However, the extra Naracoorte dates were expected to absorb any cases that might not be accommodated in the reduced Millicent and Bordertown circuits.
