There has been a surge of COVID cases in the past week at Boneham Aged Care Services in Millicent with 23 residents testing positive as of yesterday (Monday).
Some staff members have also been identified with COVID.
Boneham management has introduced a number of measures including additional COVID testing, restrictions on visitors, dispensing of anti-viral medication and sourcing additional temporary staff through an agency.
Residents remain mainly asymptomatic or only mildly symptomatic.
As residents are restricted in their movements around the facility, Boneham has put out the call to the community to donate surplus DVD players so residents can watch movies in their own rooms.
The call prompted one local to immediately purchase and donate three DVD players.
