Crash claims life

Aman has died after a crash at Bordertown on Saturday afternoon.

About 5.30pm on Saturday emergency services were called to Naracoorte Road about eight kilometres south of Bordertown after reports that a Subaru station wagon had collided with a tree. The car then caught fire.

Local fire crews extinguished the blaze, but sadly the driver and sole occupant, a 23-year-old local man died at the scene. Major Crash officers attended the scene to examine the circumstances of the collision.

The man’s death was the 89th life lost on South Australian roads this year, compared to 56 at this time last year.
