It was business as-usual last week when volunteer firefighters gathered at the Millicent CFS station for their weekly training.
It was 40 years to the day since the Ash Wednesday bushfires devastated much of the South East region.
The Millicent CFS personnel were joined by their counterparts from Glencoe.
A CFS spokesperson said the joint training session was worthwhile as it was spontaneous, cooperative and challenging.
“This is what makes CFS worthwhile and is also the very foundation of our capacity to serve our community,” the spokesperson said.
